The Linn Genealogy Research Room is on the second floor of the Albany Public Library on 14th Ave. It is located between the Teen Fiction and Adult Fiction sections of the library. The Research Room is open whenever volunteers are available to serve in the room.
Our library has two computers to use in genealogical research. We collaborated with the Albany Public Library in bringing access to Ancestry.com to our library and all of our members, as well as Albany Public Library patrons.
We also have file cabinets which hold the source materials for the 40-volume series Linn County, Oregon Pioneer Settlers Donation Land Claims to 1855. This unique series of books, compiled and written over a period of 25 years by Richard Milligan and John Miles, contains information on each of the 1,130 Donation Land Claims granted in Linn County, along with detailed genealogies of the claimants and their descendants. plus additional materials on later families.
